How Priority Ranking Works
Priority 1 is the highest urgency — areas ranked first should receive response attention earliest. Larger priority numbers indicate comparatively lower urgency.
- Earthquake incidents: Priority is calculated as Modified Intensity (MI) × exposed population in each Chiwog. Areas with stronger shaking and more people exposed receive a higher score and therefore a lower (more urgent) priority rank.
- Flood incidents: Priority is calculated as Affected Population × flood severity, where severity combines average road access distance and flood depth per affected building. Chiwogs with more affected people and greater flood impact receive higher urgency.
Affected Population and Priority are related but not identical. A Chiwog with high population may rank below another if hazard intensity or flood severity is lower. The table is sorted by Priority (1 first). Re-run the rapid assessment after an incident update to refresh stored rankings.
